A useful distinction
Steaming, boiling and stir-frying describe different ways of applying heat. The appropriate equipment, sequence and cooking checks still depend on the actual recipe and food. A method name alone cannot supply a safe temperature or universal cooking duration.
Put it into practice
Read the full tested method and the relevant equipment instructions. Identify the required doneness or temperature checks for the food involved using current official guidance. Avoid transferring the timing from another ingredient simply because both recipes use the same broad method name.
