Ask Ingredient Questions Without Promising Allergy Safety

A menu description is not a complete risk assessment.

A useful distinction

Ingredients and preparation practices both matter when food allergies are involved. A brief dish name may omit components, and an ingredient answer alone does not establish how preparation is managed. General food writing cannot assure an individual that a meal is safe.

Put it into practice

Use current guidance and the person’s appropriate healthcare advice. Ask the actual provider about ingredients and preparation rather than inferring from cuisine labels. If necessary information remains unavailable, do not turn the uncertainty into a confident allergy-safe claim.
