A useful distinction
A recipe’s ingredient list does not always explain the order of preparation. The method may reserve part of a sauce or assume a component has already been prepared. Reading both together helps identify a missing instruction before cooking begins.
Put it into practice
Mark where each ingredient appears in the method and note preparation requirements. Resolve inconsistent quantities with the author or choose a clearer tested recipe. This reading exercise organises the work; it does not validate an improvised dish or replace the relevant food-handling guidance.
