A useful distinction
A chef’s or home cook’s story describes an experience rather than every household’s practice. Its value comes partly from that particular viewpoint. Combining several accounts without attribution can erase the differences that make them useful.
Put it into practice
Note who is speaking, the interview date and the setting. Paraphrase carefully and link the original record. Distinguish the person’s memory from a broader historical conclusion that would require more evidence. A respectful reading leaves uncertainty and individual experience visible.
